Funeral Hall: Vysoké Mýto, Czechia
A Space for Contemplation: Funeral Hall, Vysoké Mýto, Czechia
Architect Roman Brychta’s design for this ceremonial hall creates a place of quiet dignity in Vysoké Mýto. The circular structure, set within a newly planted cherry orchard, symbolises the family circle—with SIBEXTREME AG STYLE flooring by Teraco lité providing a serene, seamless foundation.
The subtle terrazzo finish creates a calming atmosphere whilst the joint-free surface supports the circular flow of the space, reinforcing the architect’s vision of unity and completeness. The flooring was successfully installed over underfloor heating, demonstrating technical versatility whilst ensuring comfort throughout the year.
The building’s distinctive prefabricated concrete facade features a labyrinth relief—symbolising life’s winding path—whilst the bright ceremonial hall itself contrasts with the darker surrounding spaces.
Opened in September 2025, the hall will serve the community as both a ceremonial space and, in the surrounding park, a place of rest.
