Project Overview
For Chanel’s seasonal boutique SIB Türkiye installed a custom SIBECO TERRAZZO floor featuring a Scarpa-inspired geometric pattern. The design required over 49,000 individual stone pieces, each placed by hand, across both interior retail spaces and sun-exposed outdoor terraces — with no visible joints throughout.
The Design Intent
The brief demanded a floor that could serve as both a functional surface and a design statement befitting one of the world’s leading luxury brands. The Scarpa-inspired pattern — a nod to the Venetian tradition of intricate terrazzo craftsmanship — was custom-designed to complement Chanel’s refined interior aesthetic whilst maintaining visual continuity from indoor display areas through to the Mediterranean terrace.
SIBECO TERRAZZO’s unlimited colour and aggregate customisation made it possible to realise this level of detail in a single, jointless installation.
Why SIBECO TERRAZZO?
The Bodrum location presented a specific set of performance requirements beyond the aesthetic brief. The floor needed to transition seamlessly between a climate-controlled retail interior and outdoor terraces exposed to direct Mediterranean sun, coastal air, and seasonal weather. SIBECO TERRAZZO delivered on both fronts:
– UV stability and weather resistance for outdoor terrace areas
– Jointless application across indoor-outdoor transitions
– Custom polished finish with hand-placed aggregates
The Result
