Private Residence: Alentejo, Portugal
A private home in the Alentejo carries a single terrazzo across a 250m² bathroom suite, running the same surface through the floors, the shower trays and the walls without a change of material at any point.
The installers laid SIBECO®️ TERRAZZO joint-free throughout, with no divider strips and no movement breaks interrupting the pattern. The base colour is pale and the aggregate fine and evenly scattered, so the surface holds a quiet, consistent tone from across the space and lets the architecture and the light do the work.
The shower trays were formed in situ in the same terrazzo as the surrounding floor. With no tile joints or grout lines, the wet areas wipe down as one continuous surface and stay easy to maintain over the long term.
SIBECO TERRAZZO WALL takes the finish vertically, with the base colour and aggregate mix matched to the floor. Brassware is set straight into the wall surface with no trim or surround, so on a full elevation the tapware and the sanitaryware read as the only breaks in an otherwise continuous plane.
