PRIVATE RESIDENCE: PARIS, FRANCE
In a private home near Paris, an interior designer created a master bedroom and bathroom as one continuous surface. SIBMICRODUR flows from floor to wall, across furniture, even the bed platform itself.
No transitions, no visual interruptions.
The suite is deliberately monochromatic, but the microcement creates subtle variations in texture that catch light differently across the surfaces. This inherent character prevents the single colour from feeling flat or monotonous.
The material wraps everything: the bathtub, shower enclosure, vanity units with their organic curves and the substantial bed platform. Built-in furniture and structure blend together, making it difficult to distinguish where one ends and another begins. Everything feels integral to the architecture rather than simply placed within it.
This is SIBMICRODUR’s particular strength in residential design – the ability to create truly seamless spaces. Applied in thin layers with proper priming, the microcement adheres to multiple substrate types, making it versatile for different architectural visions.
The water-resistant properties suit wet areas perfectly, whilst the VOC-free formulation with EC1plus EMICODE® certification ensures healthy indoor air quality in more intimate spaces like bedrooms and bathrooms.
The result is striking: spaces that feel expansive, surfaces that are simple to maintain, and a strong contemporary aesthetic where continuity defines the experience. We feel that this demonstrates how SIBMICRODUR enables a bold design choice – rooms where surface becomes the statement.
