About Amos Rex:
– Designed by JKMM Architects, Amos Rex transformed a 1930s functionalist landmark by extending beneath its courtyard. Over 2,200m² of domed underground galleries create dramatic spaces for contemporary art, with structural domes breaking through the square above to form a distinctive sculptural landscape.
The museum has received international recognition including the International Architecture Awards (2021), “New Cultural Destination of the Year” at the LCD Awards (2019), and Finland’s Concrete Structure of the Year (2018).
